Turkeys are running for cover and the dressing is ready to be baked. Yes, First Lutheran is hosting a feast on Thanksgiving Day again this year, and all are welcome!
Volunteers from a coalition of area churches and the community have offered this traditional, sit-down, all-the-fixings Thanksgiving meal for several years now. Everything from fresh salad, to warm, juicy turkey, to desert and coffee is lovingly prepared and served by these volunteers at no cost or obligation to anyone wanting a hot meal and friendly smile.
Details on this year's meal will be announced shortly, and the steering committee is well into preparations. To better help those wanting to volunteer in various capacities before, during or after the meal, a web-based "sign up" list has been created using the popular "SignUpGenius" service. You may sign up to serve at the 2015 Giving Thanks at Thanksgiving meal by following this link:
Would you like to contribute financially to help fund the meal? CLICK HERE or on any of the "Simply Giving" links to go to our online gift/donation service. Please designate your gift to the "GTAT" (Giving Thanks at Thanksgiving) fund.
And we are collecting specific clothing items to distribute on Thanksgiving to those in need. A list of what's needed and where to bring them may be found AT THIS LINK. You may also distribute THIS FLIER as appropriate.
Thank you for your help and please keep preparations for the meal, the volunteers, and those partaking of the meal in your prayers, and that the meal will be a blessing to all.
