So far we have received almost $30,000 in offerings and pledges towards the Thrive Campaign! We are very thankful that so many people committed to operate on less so they could give more – that’s the heartbeat of living with margin so you can live on purpose.  I’m so grateful for so many people jumping in to make a difference with their lives.  As we come up to the Christmas and New Year's holidays, God has blessed some of you even more and many of you want to be a blessing to First Lutheran Church and the ministries we support. Throughout the coming year, we are remaining focused on three objectives:

Family Ministry at FLC – Our DCE Intern, Jake Herold, has finished up his final semester of classes at Concordia University in Portland, Oregon, and will begin his ministry here in January. His leadership will include coordinating events for children, teens, and families both in our church and in our community in order to help us reach out and to build us up as disciples. $40,000

Thrivent Builds with Habitat for Humanity – Thrivent has been working with Habitat for Humanity since the early 1990s, but also had done a lot of work locally. Currently, the Contra Costa County chapter of Thrivent is supporting a home build in Bay Point. This is a good opportunity for us to support a local cause. $5,000

CNH District Mission Opportunities – The California-Nevada-Hawaii District of the LC-MS, our denomination, recently called Mike Lange to be our district’s mission developer. His responsibilities include coordinating, promoting, and guiding new mission work in the District. In these three states, there are countless opportunities for new churches to share the gospel, and our gift will help turn those opportunities into reality. $5,000
